The Columbarium

The Church has traditionally been the natural resting repository and final resting of the deceased members of the Christian community.  Burial in or near the church was reserved to the honor the noteworthy clerics, nobles, and citizens.  It is now possible to grant this blessing to all God's children in our church "to dwell near the house of the Lord" in the designated columbarium.

First Phase

The Holiday Island Presbyterian Church is Proud to announce that the First Phase of the columbarium (A structure of vaults or niches for cremains) is now complete and applications are being taken for the remaining vaults.

Appearance

The structure is constructed of limestone with front facing midnight black granite.

It has 24 niches, 12" x 12" x 14", that can accommodate 1 or 2 Urns.  Each niche has a matching granite faceplate to identify and memorialize the deceased member of the family.

Cost of Each Niche

Level                                  Single Urn                                   Double Urns

A                                           $ 600                                              $ 900

B                                           $ 600                                              $ 900

C                                           $ 600                                              $ 900

D                                           $ 600                                              $ 900

An additional cost of approximately $ 150 per Urn interment will be charged at the time of future engraving.

Flower vases may be purchased through the Columbarium Committee.

The cost of a cenotaph is $ 175.

Applications for reserving a niche are available in the church office or speak to one of the committee members.

Memorial Gardens

The columbarium Committee developed the project without any church loans or funds.  It contains the one unit (24 niches) with the possible expansion of two more connecting units to be placed in the memorial gardens.

It will have motion sensing lights for security.  It will also be enhanced with trees, scrubs, and flowers and night time low voltage lighting.
